Hamilton Select Board Approves Honeycomb Beer-and-Wine License, Sets June Special Town Meeting

HAMILTON — March 20, 2023 — Hamilton Select Board approves on-premises beer-and-wine license for Honeycomb and schedules a June special town meeting. The board voted unanimously Monday to grant Turnbuckle LLC, doing business as Honeycomb at 248 Bay Road, a Section 12 on-premises license, replacing an existing carry-out license, with conditions limiting outdoor alcohol service to eight patio seats and a 9 p.m. closing time; attorney Tyler Henson represented proprietors Billy and Lauren Moran. The board also voted to hold a special town meeting on June 14 to consider a Gordon Conwell Seminary zoning article and a $6,288,000 Town Hall renovation — a pared-down scope that town officials say can be funded through free cash without a debt exclusion. In a 2-1 vote with two abstentions, the board recommended favorable action on a $15 million regional turf field borrowing article heading to the April 1 annual town meeting, with two members withholding full support pending per-household cost estimates. The board also unanimously approved an EV charging fee structure of 21 cents per kilowatt-hour plus parking fees of $1 per hour at Town Hall and $2 per hour at Patton Park fast chargers, with the stations expected online the following Monday.
