Hamilton Planning Board Continues Senior Housing Hearing After Member Goes Missing

HAMILTON — June 23, 2022 — Hamilton Planning Board continues senior housing special permit hearing after board member fails to appear. The board voted 6-0 to push the Tobacco Hill Capital Partners LLC special permit application for 133 Essex Street to July 12, after member Richard Boroff did not show up and several other members were found to have each already missed one prior session in the series — raising the risk that a vote could be challenged. Attorney Jill Mann, representing the applicant, said she would recommend a continuance rather than "risk a board member being absent." Attorney Deborah Eliason, representing opponent Save Tobacco Trails and Watershed, separately objected to a late-submitted Oxbow Associates land-classification report, which arrived the same day. The board set a hard deadline of July 5 at 4 p.m. for all new submittals, with responses due July 8, and final statements targeted for July 26.
