Theological Seminary Sale Dwarfs Hamilton's September Home Sales

Hamilton recorded 13 property transfers between Aug. 14 and Sept. 12, nine with disclosed prices ranging from $220,000 to $36.4 million; the median disclosed price was $800,000. The month's standout transaction was the $36.4 million sale of the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary campus on Essex Street to 212 Bridge St. LLC, an institutional deal far outside the range of the town's other, more typical residential sales, which topped out at $900,000. Junction Lane was the only street with two recorded sales. Several transfers involved trusts or matching family names, and four sales carried no disclosed price, both common features of deed records.
