Pumpkin Fest and Trunk-or-Treat Draw Families to Patton Park

HAMILTON --
TOWN -- The Recreation Department hosted Pumpkin Fest on Saturday, October 24th, from one to three p.m. at Patton Park, with pumpkins provided while supplies lasted alongside a trunk-or-treat event, Select Board liaison Lee McCoy reported at the board's October 19th meeting.
Separately, the Select Board's October 19th discussion of one-time town revenues touched on recreation funding. Assistant Town Manager and Finance Director Wendy Markwood told the board that proceeds from the original sale of Patton Ridge, now valued at $715,824, were placed years ago into a recreation field stabilization fund under a 2015 town meeting article. The board discussed asking the town's legal counsel to review how that article was written before deciding whether or how those funds could be put toward recreation field purposes, with member Ben Galuza noting the board would need to "separate a Town Meeting (vote) from a (Select Board) decision" on any future use of the money.
