Hamilton Conservation Commission Approves Four Permits, Splits on Arabian Way House Plan

HAMILTON — July 28, 2021 — Hamilton Conservation Commission approves four permit applications and issues emergency beaver dam order at July 28 meeting. The four-member commission, chaired by Lauren Lynch and including George Tarr, Virginia Cookson, and Chris Currier, voted 4-0 on a negative determination allowing a pond safety fence and native plantings at 35 Miles River Road, approved a home addition notice of intent at 18 Allen Road with erosion controls and a no-overnight-parking restriction for construction vehicles in the buffer zone, cleared a 32-by-20-foot septic replacement at 30 Appaloosa Lane by the same margin, and voted 3-1 — Cookson dissenting — to approve a revised notice of intent for a new single-family home at 3 Arabian Way, shifting the controlling order of conditions from the state DEP back to the local commission. The commission also issued an emergency permit for beaver dam removal at 670 Bay Road with a condition requiring a water-level management plan, such as a "beaver deceiver" apparatus, by the September meeting.
